Dr. Albert Ellis began writing about sex in the 1950’s when his views were considered so extreme no one wanted to publish his work. Ellis moved to the forefront of the sexual revolution in 1958 with the publication of Sex Without Guilt.  His views on marriage, sex and relationships were still controversial in 1974, the date of this interview. Ellis said, “I encourage people to change their behavior, to force themselves to try new things.” He believed that sex was the worst reason to get married or divorced, and that it was far more important that a couple have what he called a “convergence of values.”
