A recent study claiming that children raised by same-sex parents are more likely to be on public assistance, unemployed, or in therapy as adults is being criticized by social scientists. In the study, almost 3,000 18 to 39-year-olds were surveyed, most of whom were raised by heterosexual parents. There were 175 with mothers and 73 with fathers who at one point had same-sex relationships. Scientists believe the study was conducted in a way that was guaranteed to find bad results. (Words 103)
