Sixty years ago, Alfred Kinsey reported that 50% of married men and 25% of married women had had an affair. Have the numbers changed? Are women catching up with men? Depending on the study, the number of men who have cheated ranges from 20% to 28% and the number of women from 15% to 19%. Because men have a tendency to add to the numbers of their affairs and women to subtract from them, accuracy is difficult. Adding to this difficulty is an unwillingness to share information with a stranger that could potentially damage a marriage. Indications are, though, that women are indeed catching up to men.
