Recent research indicates that young men are not immune to erectile dysfunction (ED).  Nearly half of newly diagnosed cases are under the age of 40 and the bulk of those experience severe ED. Though there is much still to be studied among larger and broader male populations, this study’s findings pinpoint some patient characteristics that may prove helpful in understanding the prevalence of the condition in younger men. Some of the characteristics included lower body mass index, higher testosterone in the blood, and few other medical conditions. Riskier traits included tobacco and drug use.
