It’s common to view teenage boys as sex-crazed maniacs. It’s just as common to ignore the fact that they have tender feelings about sex. Teen boys experience hurt, pain, rejection, and anxiety when it comes to their sexuality. They are often pressured to have sex before they’re ready by friends who are only too willing to tease them about their virginity and, when they succumb to the pressure, they fear their lack of experience will be talked about by their partner and her friends. Our sons experience a great deal of anxiety about sexuality and should have the mechanics of sex explained as well as the usual facts about safe sex.
