When it comes to sex and drugs, parents have plenty of information to share with their children to protect them, but that’s not necessarily true when it comes to social media. Certainly there’s more information for parents to share with their children today, but for parents who were raising their children as the internet and social media developed, the information just wasn’t there. One such parent now knows that she would have told her boys that they are not invisible on the internet and that Facebook can make it easy to hurt peoples’ feelings. Also, to think before they tweet and not to use the internet as a replacement for face-to-face conversations when it’s important.
