Older adults are not feeling great about sex and relationships in 2013.  The AARP reports that only forty percent of those studied were sexually satisfied, a steep decline since 2004. This may be due to an increase in overall health issues and the role gender differences. Men see sexuality as an integral part of their well-being and report less sexual activity after age 45. Both genders rate their sexual activity as satisfactory as long as intercourse occurs once a week.  Unfortunately, older adults are not particularly conscientious in their use of  protection during sex.  Quality of life for this age group has decreased as well and deserves further consideration.
