A recent survey of counseling professionals shed new light on the reasons for infidelity. They found that it’s not about sex. Emotional dissatisfaction is the number one reason both men and women cheat, while sexual dissatisfaction is the second most common reason.  Expert Lynn R. Zakeri said, “It may sound surprising, but many men are really looking for someone to connect with, to be their best friend and their intimate partner, and when they lose that connection in their marriage, they may look elsewhere.” Many factors can lead to an extramarital sexual encounter, but emotional distance is one that can be prevented, perhaps by taking a marriage education class.
